All Of Our Friends

We'll miss them.

We have made many good friends in our two years in France. Here is a picture of as many of them as we could get in our last few weeks.

Colin, Amanda, Ben, Oliver, and William make up the Hoffmeisters. We have had many good times with the Hoffmeisters, including many sailing excursions. Though we never did capsize the Hobie Cat.

Here is Christophe, Sylvie and their children Flavie, Manot, and Lucy. Sylvie helps Patti with her French, and the kids all play together well.

The Kristofferson's are our next door neighbors. Victor and Jeff are best buddies and play together all the time. Pere and Steve play chess and sail together, with Steve holding a 3-1-1 edge in the chess games. Daughter Anna rides horses, and second daughter Signe was off at her first sleep over this day. Lena and Patti go shopping together sometimes.

Emmanuelle has been our family babysitter since the day we arrived. The boys love her and always ask for her when it's time for a babysitter.

We made many, many friends through the AVF - Accueils des Villes Françaises. It pretty much was responsible for making our stay in France a pleasurable one as most of our social life resulted from people we met here. Here is a nice array of pictures of our friends from the AVF.

This is Carmen and her two children, Stephanie and Jason.

Here is Dong Sook with Julie and Mathew.

Here is Karen, Emma, and Carmen. Karen bakes kids birthday cakes that make mine look silly.

Here is Wendy, Kevin, and Josh in Mandelieu.

Me with our friend Katja. You can tell I'm unemployed in some of these pictures. Whatever is that stuff on my face ?

Me and Nigel. Nigel is one of those very lucky Brits who decides to check all that horrible UK weather and move to the South of France to stay. He's still there. We're not.

Here are some of our closest friends, the van Heusdens. We befriended Caroline and Ramon shortly after we arrived and we stayed great friends. Ramon has a tough life, working as a financier in Monte Carlo. Can't get much better than that. Here they are with Madeline and Kirsten. Caroline says she is from Canada, but she doesn't like hockey or say "eh ?", so I'm not so sure.
